Web Quest

Wow...I learned a lot in class today. I only thought web quests were for history teachers but I was wrong, you can use them in any classroom. I created a web quest on a math topic (factoring quadratics) where my students have to use the web sites to create a presentation where they will teach other students about this topic. I love it and think it turned out so good that I am going to use it in my classroom!! Web quests can be a fun and interactive way to get students involved in the lesson and also a way to change up your boring routine. How would you use web quests in your classroom?

  1. I have never seen/completed a Webquest before and learned a lot in class too! When creating my Webquest for class, I was questioning how I could use it in math. I am glad you shared your example but was wondering what grade yours was for? I'm not sure I could use it in early childhood, or it would be very basic. I decided to create my Webquest about the moon for second grade. If I currently had a classroom, I would use it for my students as well! I think this is a great way to introduce new units/concepts that will engage students of all ages and abilities. Love this project!

  2. I took a project that I have to use for the Common Core ELA modules and, instead of it being very teacher guided, used the format of a webquest to take a lot off the work off of me. It turned out really well! I agree, I haven't really explored this format that much and, I'll admit, originally found it a bit dated and/or hard to incorporate. However, now that I had such a positive experience, I'll be using it a lot in the future.
